SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It was a successful weekend at the Carrier Dome for two Southern Tier high school football teams.
Maine-Endwell and Chenango Forks both won the New York State Championship games. In the Class B final, Maine-Endwell scored with four seconds left to pull within one point of their opponent. To win the game, they went for a successful two point conversion for a 22-21 victory.
In the Class C game, Chenango Forks opponent scored late in the fourth quarter. In similar fashion, the team went for the two point conversion, but Chenango Forks' defense proved too strong in the 28-27 win. This marks the team's first title since 2004.
