LOS ANGELES, CA -- As the search continues for an accused cop killer, the Los Angeles Police Department is now offering a one million dollar reward for information that leads to the arrest of the former police officer accused of killing three people.

Police say last week Christopher Dorner killed an engaged couple and a police officer in an ambush in Irvine, California.

After days of searching near Los Angeles, police tracked Dorner to Big Bear Mountain, which is east of Los Angeles. They found the charred remains of his truck in the mountains of the popular ski town.

Police are also investigating a call the suspect may have made to the father of the murdered woman. Investigators say they aren't sure if the calls were made by him or someone posing as him.

The Los Angeles Police Department says they are providing protection to anyone they believe may be targeted, after Dorner posted a manifesto on the internet. In that manifesto, he vowed to harm the police officers and their families involved in what he says was "his unfair firing" from the force back in 2008.
